Hatch struts for hood; Anyone ever tried this?

Have any of you thought about using a set of hatch struts on the hood so it holds itself up without the little prop rod? I know a lot of cars use them on their hoods. Just wondering what I could do with my Metro along these lines ... :hmm :hmm

Thoughts??

I sell these but I don't really get what's so cool about them. Some people love them! ^o)

If there's a market, somebody's gonna fill it. Might as well be you! Yeah, this is the approach I was thinking about. Mustang owners like to spend money on their rides. (It constantly amazes me how much disposable income my students must have to do the things to their cars that they talk about in class!! That, or debt!) Metro owners love to improve their rides, but we do it as economically (cheaply?) as possible.

The Suzuki guys do this. Go over to Teamswift and look. I remember seeing one at Geopalooza with a hood strut.

It sounds cool, but I'm kinda drunk.

Does the price really make it worth while? I think the prop rod does the trick.

If cost alone was the only justification, there'd be a whole lot fewer projects posted on this list!! Some things ya just gotta do 'cause they're there, know what I mean??
