![]() That's the other way, but you will need a coupler to put the hoses together. That little black part between the two clamps. Should be about $2 at a part store. Either way will work.
![]() No, this will just allow you to run the engine without spraying more coolant inside your Metro. You need to get whatever coolant mix is in the block out and put the correct mix in. |

ok. Coolant out of block. Easiest way to do this, obviously, is to run the engine. Next easiest way? IS there another way? Or, just decide if it cracks, it cracks, and plan to replace it anyway? I was sort of planning to replace the motor when i did the transmission,soo... |

You could try draining the radiator, remove the two bolts holding the thermostat housing on and remove the thermostat. Crank the car over a few times. Remove the radiator cap and using compressed air and a rag over the radiator, blow the coolant out the thermostat housing. Some engines had drain plugs just for draining the blocks but not yours. Here is you another idea. Mind you, it is just a idea. Drain the radiator, leave the radiator cap off, remove the thermostat housing and thermostat. Using a wet and dry shop vac, suck out the antifreeze thru the thermostat hole. |

Since you are not looking to drive the car, you could drain the radiator and remove the thermostat, replace the thermostat housing, refill the radiator with straight antifreeze, crank the engine for a bit to circulate it. Don't worry about the system being full since you are not driving it. |
