Vert Seat Replacements?

I am having trouble finding better seats for my 93 vert. Most things I find are too tall, and my head would hit the top.
I came across this craigslist ad, and thought........maybe? Thoughts?

Uh,...I think those are for a shop stool.
What about seats from a Mazda Miata?

I need to check the pick and pull for miata seats, I was looking for roll bars from them but someone always seems to grab them before me

What's wrong with the seats you have? I'm just curious 'cause I'm considering options for my seats. So far I'm leaning toward having them re-upholstered - remove the covers (still in pretty good shape), wash them and have the upholstery shop redo the foam in them. I'd be willing to consider alternatives but I also can't sit much higher than stock and not hit my head on the ragtop.

The headrest on the drivers is falling apart, little pieces are falling down on the mat behind the seat. I was thinking that getting nicer seats from a yard and fabricating mounts would be cheaper than getting them cleaned and reupholstered but I could be wrong

You're probably right about that. Finding old vert seats in good shape would be nearly impossible - all the foam and sh*t is 20+ years old. If you find any alternatives that fit, let us know.

I look at the "universal" race type bucket seats on ebay - they look nice seem kinda cheap for brand new seats. Ever seen any of those in real life?
Here's an example:

I have not seen them in real life however I doubt they have "vert specific" seats. The problem is how thick the seat cushion is. On vert's they are thinner than standard metro seats, so you are not as tall when sitting in them, at least that is what I read online

Besides Miatas, MR2s are pretty low to the ground and might be worth checking out.

These (MR2 seats) look pretty thin:

I'm a heavy guy and find the Suzuki Esteem seats to work nicely, and they they bolt to the existing vert seat rails...

I have a set of bucket seats from my old '82 280ZX. Anyone know off the top of their heads if there's a chance these might fit? They're up in the rafters of my garage, it's 3 *F out there, and I'm sitting here with the dog snoring softly at my feet in a nice warm chair ... :D :D :D

I googled those seats. the bottoms look thin enough. cant tell about the width. got a glance at the seat rails. they would have to be removed and the 'Vert seat rails bolted or welded in place.-----So, depending on the width I would say yes there is a chance they will fit.

Thanks! I'll put that on my "warm weather" list for when I get everything else done.
