PA Metro voices his opinion on frame braces........

I agree with him on the matter that throwing a brace on a rotted out Metro will not save the car. But I highly recommend these braces to keep those critical areas on the car from flexing.

I have never heard some one say it would save a rotted out car. It will help with flex and keep frame spread from happening.

The video is very true. If your frame horns are severely rotted a frame brace will only hold them together. The brace also ties in at the rear of the frame horn so that if the front lower legs of the horns are rotted , the floor and firewall in that area will most likely be gone also. Repairing the area by plating and welding and a frame brace is your best option.

It's like many of us have said before; a brace is absolutely fantastic, but rust still needs to be fixed properly.

Good video.

I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed all over the place for this but it's held mine together for a year or 2. I do have one good frame horn left, though. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be fixed because it should, but for a temporary fix it's worked well for me. I've never had any issues with drivability but if that other frame horn starts to go before spring she's going to the scrapper.

I agree, the brace held my car's rusted horns together much longer than it should've, ha. Bought a new Metro, and transferred the frame to the new one, and scrapped the old.
