Looking to change my flywheel in my '96 1.0 3cyl over to a 1.3 4cyl set up. I was wondering if the clutch/pressure plate set up link below is a good one or any other suggestions that you may have. Thanks in advance. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KUPP-STAGE-1-CLUTCH-KIT-1992-1997-GEO-METRO-1998-2001-CHEVY-CHEVROLET-METRO-1-3L-/400602904626?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AGeo|Model%3AMetro&hash=item5d45cb3832&vxp=mtr

my 1.3 flywheel was bought from a junkyard 120 miles from me. $40 shipped to my door. It was found thru this website. Try it:

did you also check for 1.3 Suzuki flywheels? That's what I have in my 'Vert.

Just checked for Suzuki. nothing available. Can't seem to look for just flywheels. Only choice is for cars and not parts.

have to run each year vehicle. then look at each description and pick out the 1.3s and write down the "lot number"

then call the jy and ask them about each lot number

takes a while but can be done at your leisure in your living room.

The 1.3 liter flywheel and clutch seems to be a popular change for a lot of 3 cylinder Geo Metro operators.

Unfortunately, Old Man got the last of the 1.3 liter flywheels that were known to man. :lol

No worries. There are several million Geo Metros still in operation with the flywheel and clutch system, or an equivalent aftermarket replacements, that originally came with the car. They work well, and last a long time. I've never worn out a clutch on a 3 cylinder Geo Metro.

Only reason I went to the 1.3 setup is because I went from the 4.39 tranny to a 4.1 tranny and from 13"tires to 15" tires. Those modifications make it harder on the clutch system.

Unless you are doing similar, and/or increasing horsepower/torque by a lot the stock clutch for the 1.0 is more than sufficient for over (maybe much over) 100K miles

Now if I could just stop :lol :lol :lol
got all the brake parts, just waiting for Geo Glenn to go on vacation :D :D

I guess I was looking to up grade to a better set up. I have heard both sides of the idea and was interested in the whole reduction in reciprocating weight to accelerate through the gears more smoother and faster. I remember reading a story from a high mpg engine/car builder that 1 lbs of innershal weight off of a flywheel or anything that spins your axles, CV ect is equal to removing from 35 to 50 lbs of chassis weight. Those guys in the MPG competitions are using the aluminum flywheels (about 5 to 6 lbs lighter then the steel flywheel) and swear by them. Not sure about any of this but very interesting to me.
