Thanks Old Man.

Fiat X19. Thart10, speakers in the headrests. That was sweet.
How did I end up in this conversation? I never said anything about "Speakers in the headrest".
Although that does sound like a brilliant idea, since the only available space behind you is the about 4" shelf below the rear window. I have heard of some guys sacrificing a Spare tire to mount a big Azz Sub Woofer in that space
As close as I came to doing that was mounting a remote speaker for my CB Radio back there, in 1976, so I could hear all the "rachet-jawin'" at 55 MPH with the top off. ^o) :D

Didn't want to hijack the thread, just remembered that the Fiat x19's had speakers built into the headrests (stereo) and made a comment since you posted your Fiat. Yours doesn't? Maybe it was an option. They were great with the top on or off.

I think that was a Recaro thing, not necessarily Fiat. Fiat was probably the only manufacturer to put them in from the factory, but I clearly remember Recaro offering an optional headrest with speakers built in.

OK! I thought you might have had me confused with someone else. Mine is a 78 and I had a 76 & 74 years ago. That might be an option on some of the later models but that's the first I've heard of it. I'll have to check with by buds at <http://xwebforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=13> the next time I'm over there.

I'm thinking around 1975 ish. Could have been a 74, but not later than 76. It had factory Recaro seats as I remember. I know I'm not dreaming. My dad's secretary had one and so did my friend Dan in his wife's, both of which had the integrated stereo speakers in the headrests. Thanks for joggin my memory Woodie.

I do feel bad about sidetracking this thread Thart10. How's your predicament coming?
