I've made successful junkyard runs with nothing but my Leatherman... and it's
A. Old (they have refined the design since then) and
B. Pretty bottom-of-the-bucket, as far as the options on it go...
My Leatherman holster is slowly dissolving... :'( And they don't make this kind of holster any more! :'(

I'm with mythstae on this one, however, I would just say my pocket knife. I work across the street from kershaw knifes and there warranty on their products is awesome- you break it and they fix it... So I have used my knife to do damn near everything and anything and have broken the blade many many times and they just replace it everytime without a problem. What makes it so useful is that it's always with me. You would be suprised what you can do with only a knife if that's all you have and you are screwed if you can't solve whatever problem you have in front of you! I also have a leatherman in my glove box that I found on the bottom of a river and it has saved my ass many times!

Yup, fishing in central oregon looked down and saw a shiny object- picked it up and SCORE! I also have two older gerber multipliers and I don't like them as much as the leatherman.

Well I'm not a fan of gerbil multipliers or gerber multipliers! The gerber pliers were gifts- and if gerbils were gifts I think I would re-gift!!!

My favorite tool is a vice grip (locking pliers). I rarely use it because it isn't really ideal for most situations, but man do they come in handy. Way better than average pliers.

I love all of my tools. Over the decades they have allowed me to work on standard transmissions of all kinds. Some of the tools are home made. There just was not place to by tools just for working on sticks in the way back, so we had to make them as we went along. It taught me a lot. But my most used tool is my little pocket knife. Its everywhere I go.

And I have been called a tool a time or three. lol

Just bought myself a hilti impact wrench, quite expensive but I already have a bunch of hilti tools and batteries are interchangeable and overall hilti is better. The impact makes my life so easy!

This is not really the best tool that I own, but it looked really slick when I saw it on the Snap On truck. The chrome brake pad spreaders rotate 360 degrees. It cost more than it should have, but it really is a premium tool.

COMPRESSOR

Without that, impacts, die grinders, plasma cutters, paint guns -

None of that can happen

~You gotta have compressed air...
