Need some real traction? Get a Detroit locker :D
Sure... A little noisy on corners... but they lock up solid as a rock...

One would need to buy the phantom grip Limited Slip unit for the swift transmission, $300

Boy, that's really some fanciful description (and price) for what is basically a $12 block of metal.

The only true LSD I've heard of was made by Suzuki's racing division and cost about $1000.

SRD does not make them. Its a company out of England. He sells them to SRD. I spoke with him about maybe buying one. Its exactly the same cost from him as it is from SRD.

No, not SuzukiRD, I mean the real Suzuki performance division.

Quoting TonyP from TeamSwift, here is what Suzuki had to say ten years ago:
Quote:

Dear Mr. Tony P

Thank you for your e-mail.

I am very sorry, we have finished production of Swift's parts
long time ago and we also don't have any left.
I am afraid I don't know any company who has our parts
in stock for Swift.

I am very sorry for not able to help you on this matter.

Thank you from Japan,

Can't you just weld the dif? Not telling anyone to do it, but isn't that functionally what a LSD is? :hmm I think I saw someone weld their dif once on like junkyard wars or something.

It's kind of hard on the transaxle. Unless your tires lose traction fairly easily around corners you will break something.

Alrighto. It was on a purpose built dragster so it all makes sense. It was a one trick, one time, pony.

Can work for drag racing and offroading where tires tend to spin freely, but on the street having both wheels locked together 100% is not a great way to go and apparently with front wheel drive, is a really bad idea.

Oh! This was rear wheel drive. And I see what you mean about cornering. It works fine in a straight line, but when tires need to move at different speeds it could become troublesome.
