to day i took my drivers side bottom seat cover apart it was easy ,it's abit warn the cushion ,i added some patting under the seat pad ,and had to take it out because it left it to much pad, did it 3 times and now it takes about 15min take out ,apart and reinstall, so i my have to it out one more time and take more pad out down to 1/2 inch ,or do what i was going to do from the beganning get a passinger side bottom and replace it with that ,at a gunk yard, there asking 35.00 ,,or switch my passager side bottom seat pad with my drivers side, switch them out,,it should work ,with the slight differences with the iner screw slot, hinge,,the bottom seat fabric is attached to the center of the seat pad do not need to detach ,,or may not if i buy a used passinger side one of different color , just the foam not the bottom hole bracket,

I think I follow you on this.
Yes, you can switch the covers from side to side, however, the pre fab slots and screw holes do not line up.
Its on the side, and not very noticeable. I did this swap on project meatloaf.
make sure you reattach the seat bottom securely so the cover doesn't slide around on you.

If I were to do the project again, I might take a seam ripper to the seat bottom, use it as a pattern. use adhesive glue to glue 1/4 inch foam to neutral grey fabric, and make an entirely new seat bottom, but re-use the plastic side pieces, being careful to match seams and sew holes.

ah- you mean foam only replacement-
as long as your cover is in good shape- no reason not to.

I recently replaced my driver seat foam. I used a passenger side foam since it was easier to find a nice set. I had to trim a few pieces here and there to get it fitting perfectly. I washed the seat covers while I had them off and some bullring pliers really helped things go back together quickly. It was an easy job, and no more spings in my ass.
