So new clutch is in. I push the pedal and I get about 1-2 inches then it goes clunk straight to the floor. It tries to rip the engine out of itself in first and the clutch is very delicate. In reverse, there is a horrible "SHUCK SHUCK" and the entire car shakes violently, then dies. what did I do wrong? |

with the engine running and tranny in neutral. When you push the clutch to the floor can you shift into 1st gear without grinding? |

If the clutch lever is pulled in too far the fingers on the pressure plate will rub up against the disk. |

Did you have the clutch arm off? If so did you line the dots back up on the spline? Is it just going too far? |

Can you take and post pictures of the arm where it's mounted on the spline (if it's clean enough to see the alignment marks) and the whole arm that shows the arm "position" and cable attachment? Folks on here might be able to see if anything looks obviously off. |

When the clutch pedal is up, there should be a little bit of free play in the cable at the arm. In other words, there should be no tension on the clutch cable when the clutch is fully engaged.

It sounds like you may have the cable adjusted too tight. You should be able to move the clutch arm slightly by hand, I've attempted to illustrate in your photo:
