jack of all trades, master of two

never had luck with goodyear belts
running a dayco on my dd
smaller (shorter) belt due to underdrive crank pulley
do you have the proper bolts holding the alt to the bracket? one of them is a " carriage" bolt/nut set-up. if a regular nut/bolt is used, you can tighten it up as much as you want, but the pulleys will never line up properly.it will work for awhile (month or so) then it will start squealing again.
My friends car had a chronic issue of this, after many different belts, pulleys, water pump, and 2 new alts her mech said that it was "typical" of these import cars to act this way when they get old......
first time I checked the oil,i could see that the pulleys weren't lined up
noticed a really shiny nut/bolt-ZINC PLATED STANDARD SIZE.....that's not right.......grabbed the proper one from the parts car, installed it and she never had a noisy belt again. going on 5 years now, still no squeal :thumb

Just another wrench.

Hello Zombie

I am going to use these parts that I have been told that they work by t3ragtop and Snowfish among others. URLs below. It is the scoop so I hear.

I believe that t3 has a set of videos that show how to install. I believe both t3 and snowfish have documented the conversion.

Best of luck.

Well, unfortunately the swap couldn't happen. Had to purchase one to not destroy my new battery, and tax money only lasts so long. We picked up the Mitsubishi one, and it's gonna be installed tomorrow, weather permitting.

I'll have him double check all the bolts you guys are mentioning. I know mostly he deals with the two on the front brackety thingy... /woman

It probably is wobbling, because whenever we pull the belt off it has stretched for sure. This little thing just loves to make my days complicated!

Also, I just want to mention that I got out to my car this morning, and noticed a tiny hole in the middle of my driver's seat, with some stuffing pulled up and a single mouse poop.

I AM SO MAD.
