I'm not sure if all of the Geo Metros are like this, but on my 94 metro if you don't press the brake before turning over the engine the horn will blow. Well mine is getting bad where even if i press down the brake it still will blow. It's now becoming a major problem because it takes awhile before it 'catches' and starts. I Just need to disconnect this all together or bypass it some how. Does anyone know how to do this?

You need the FSM wiring diagrams. I believe there's a green/blue wire in a connector near the cabin fuse box; the horn circuits not super complicated. Try temporarily removing the ground wire from the horn (under the hood) until you can work on it.

Horn on front of engine bay infront of driver side radiator fan. Shaped like little black circle with 2 wires coming off it. Disconnect negative wire. This will disable the horn for good though. Your wiring is rigged somewhere and needs to be fixed correctly.

Some of the metros do this if you forget to push the brake before starting

If i don't push the brake, the horn will blow and the engine will not turn over at all. If i just unhook the horn, it will stop the horn from blowing, but the engine will not turn over still. You know how if you remove the little ANTI-Theft(?) 'key' , the car will not turn over or do anything? Well it's like that.

If this is an aftermarket security feature, I would think that you could examine the wiring under the dash and see if you can find added circuits. If you can find some non original looking wiring, you can post pics here and we can help you through this.

Aren't those made by Mitsubishi? Perhaps it got in through the alternator or the EGR valve?

Well, when i first got the car back in 96(? i can't really remember), it was purchased through a car rental place. I'm wondering if they may of added this as a security feature to it themselves? If i can just find where it's at i can do away with it.

I'm looking under the steering column and there is two black wires that is T spliced. To me, it doesn't look oem because there is no protection of the naked place. I have no camera now because my phone decided it wanted to take a swim in the toilet, but here is my awesome Photoshop of what the wire looks like....

You may find that it does not cost much to bring your geo to a car alarm installer and have them disconnect the aftermarket security feature.

sounds like their is an old after market alarm hooked up... instead of a screamer siren hooked up sounds like they rolled it into the horn. that would explain why the car is not starting. but why the horn sounds with the breaks??? i haven't the foggiest.
