Like the title says, I want to make(or buy :D ) a harness to plug in to my '93 Metro for use with a standard four pin trailer plug. Should be easy enough but I despise wiring so any help or ideas would be great. :thumb Guess I'll start by hunting down some factory connectors to hack up...

:hmm
Why would you need factory connectors... Want to make everything pluggable somewhere so you don't have to splice your factory harness?

Turbo3 and Twincam Tweaker

the metro electrical system is wierd, out of the norm for most automotive wiring. but they do make a trailer light adapter to 4 pin connector for the cars.

my buddy chuckwagon used to work at uhaul and he got them in blister packs to fit the metro/ swift cars. $24.95, the kits came with crimp on wiring adapters and had electronic steering circuits to adapt trailer lighting to the tail light wiring.

snowfish owns and operates a trailer business. he probably has them in stock. ;)

:hmm :news :hmm :news

Edit:
:D
Also PM sent. B-)
This *should* work. NO cutting of your Metro's wires. :banana
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK (not tested)
Supplies needed:
(2) five wire relays and sockets
Trailer Harness
Male and female ends from donor. Connector P400 and P401. (Connector at rear lights)

Attach jumper wire from:
(Metro)---[Trailer Harness]

Park--(red wire with a yellow stripe)---attach to brown wire on trailer harness
Stop--(green wire with a white stripe)---86 & 87 on both relays
Left Blinker--(green wire with a red stripe)---87a on left relay
Right Blinker--(green wire with a yellow stripe)---87a on right relay

Left--[Yellow]--30 on left relay
Right--[Green]--30 on right relay

Ground--White Wire
Ground--85 on both relays

:hmm
You might want to bump by 5 amps:
Back Fuse (was 10, now 15 amp)
Tail Fuse (was 15, now 20 amp)
Stop Fuse (was 15, now 20 amp)

Flasher *should* be able to handle it, but you may want to install a Heavy Duty one.
