Which side of my dimmer wheel/switch to I tap into for illumination? (which color wire, I know there's only 2) Thanks in advance! Or do I use some other wire, and which one? Wiring is not my strong suit.

I don't think you can use the dimmer signal, as it is backward in our cars. Most cars supply an adjustable 12V through the dimmer knob on the dash. Our cars have a switched 12V and the dimmer knob provides an adjustable ground. You need to use the switched 12V and rig up some extra way of adjusting the brightness. |

It doesn't have to be adjustable. I just want it to light when my lights are on. i run my instrument panel at full brightness anyway. |

Nevermind, I wound up using a key on 12v source instead of tying it to the other lights. |

Just FYI Our dimmer circuits are not backwards, there just misunderstood! ![]() There are two separate wires. Backlighting Input (also known as Illumination) and Backlighting Dim Control (also known as Dimmer) Illumination (red wire with a yellow stripe) is the 12v wire that supplies the voltage to the light bulbs. This is connected to the headlight switch. Most aftermarket items (radio, gauges, etc.) will use this wire. Dimmer(red wire with a green stripe) is a rheostat controlled ground. This is what allows you to control the brightness. Hope this helps if you want to go after the Illumination circuit later.
