Really want all my hoses to be silicone and color matching like all the rest of the hoses. Mite as well throw the breather tube in there. It can't make it that more expensive in a group buy |

Well, everyone, here is the bad news; the hoses in the team swift buy wear NOT produced by Samco. not only are they knock offs, but buy putting Samcos name and trademark on them, well, that is a crime. Good news; Samco is still willing to continue to work with us, but we will have to start over from the beginning. Samco does not have tooling for our application, so we will have to provide them with a pattern. once they have them tooled, they will be available to everyone in the future. the initial orders will be at a discount to the future purchases. I hate to say this but it will take some time to put this together. more to come. |

I thought this was well clear ahead of time by reading the posts from the old group by.. I'll admit I was surprised to see the logo when I picked a set up locally from a member who was selling them though either way wasn't too worried about it.. but I wouldn't of shown them to samco themself! haha What do you mean by pattern? You want a set of old hoses? I am waiting a few days for a set of silicone vac lines to come in the mail to go with my coolant ones. When I redo them all at once I could flat rate ship you my old hoses at my expense to use on this project if you wanted to. You'll need someone with the newer set to donate some too though I guess. Mines a 94. Think you'll need a 95+ also. |

I can not get a cost yet. we have to be talking apples to apples first. I am including the pcv tube in the discussion. Samco has offered to test the 'first group buy' hoses for us for no cost. I have found a couple air bubbles in one of the radiator hoses of my 95-00 set, so I will be sending that one in. after that conversation, I figured I would just send them my entire unopened 95-00 set + pcv, as a pattern. I am waiting to hear if that will work or if they may be destroyed in the process. @Skagitmetro; When I saw the Samco logo on our hoses I went to their web site to purchase vac hose. they offered kits for several other vehicles, but I did not see metros. knowing that once tooled, they would be available forever, so I asked. they could not find any info. I was asked for the part number, which would have been embossed by the logo. with the p/n they could provide them. I could not find a p/n. the very nice folks at Samco said they could put one together, and this is where we are now. Edited by sphenicie, Mar 15 2014, 06:14 AM.

if this works out: 1) we will need to have 15-20 in the initial purchase. mix of colors ok. 2) these hoses WILL be fully warranted and available into the future. 3) I will NOT be involved with any money handling, purchases will be directly from Samco. NO clandestine fourth party worries. NO slow boat from ? 4) future purchases will be available as sets as well as individual parts, every part will have a p/n embossed on it, for ordering reference. 5) all orders will be shipped direct from Samco to the purchaser. I am expecting a rough cost by the end of next week. pcv/breather port has to be considered. no firm price will be available until they have a set of patterns and can be sure they can verify all requirements. I did ask for some idea of cost, as "nobody will commit to a blank check price". I am looking into a couple ways to reduce cost. potentially come up with a universal 'set', to cover 89-00, with individual exceptions. this would allow us to get the required 15-20 orders a single time. rather than 15-20 for 89-94, and 15-20 for 95-00. any ideas on a single set would be great. I should have all the hoses for the 89-94 here, but if I need something I will put out a call, so don't toss any just now. |

Samco would prefer OEM hoses to the other kit. I will put something together for them as we progress. right now, I brought up the idea of just making the PCV hose, to complete the sets we have already got. I will get a firm price after I get it sent in. Assuming a fair price, I need to know who will commit to producing the PCV hose. |

we will need some more support to get this together. 15 -20 is the minimum. I am not going to send in patterns until we have that. to address the issue of a PCV 'silicone' hose, Samco offers a petroleum resistant hose, that matches our colors. it is more costly but, that is what our option is. the construction season is about to break, so I will be getting very busy real soon. if interest builds, I will get back at it. otherwise, it will sit on the back burner, sorry. |

if the interest for the PCV keeps up we can start there. I guess that there is more call for the new valve cover style. hopefully the folks who got hoses the first time around will hear and we can come up with enough interest to make a go at it. looks like, new style v/c, PCV hose, myself (2) unplugged150 murfthesurf bjetmech 16 to go.
