Engine Will Not Start; Electrical problem

Hi...

I need help... badly.

I was trying to locate an intermittent misfire under the hood when I noticed a bare wire (Black w/white leader). The engine was running. When I let go of the wire, it grounded onto the timing cover. Killed the engine.

The wire was one of four leading to a green connector that led to the oxygen sensor located under the exhaust manifold.

The engine turns over, but, will not start. I have no instrumentation lights and the gauges are not working. I've checked all the fuses, and they are good. The relays also seem to be good... as well as the one mini-diode.

I am not sure whether the coil is good or not. I get a reading of 002 resistance when checking the ignition wire connector on the coil itself. The ignition control module is not what I see when looking it up on Autozone... it is just a 2-wire connector leading to a silver, finned aluminum block mounted on the firewall behind the driver side strut. IF that is indeed the ICM.

I really am at a loss here.... any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am going to pull the interior fuse block down and see if there are any burnt connections. Maybe this might give me a better idea.

Have you checked the main fuse under the hood?

I found it... It was just the ignition coil fuse in the block under the dash. I swear I checked them all... must have missed that one.

Thanks for your help, Rhino and freegeo. I am glad it was a simple fix...lol!

Glad you got it going. Nothing worse than your car not starting.
