cold cranking amps; how many cca to start a 1.0 liter engine

I never clean battery terminals. I smear them with gobs of wheel bearing grease the day I install the battery and never have a problem.

I don't own a gel cell battery, I'm a old school lead acid kind of guy.

I changed out my top post batteries for side post, i use what i sell at work, 75EXT, its like 700+ cold cranking amps Lol, plus 3 years free replacement, and a 60 month pro rate :P so a 5 year battery.

I like overkill with batteries. On my V8 vehicles, I like at least 750 cca, and will probably try for around 500 for my Metro. The spiral-wound batteries are pretty expensive unless you find some blems.
