Anyone using LED headlights yet

Is anyone using LED headlights, whether the sealed beam type or the drop ins yet? Can you post some pics, and maybe some at night if so, high and low beams shown? I could go HID, but I'd rather not just because HIDs are IMO somewhat dangerous, and technologically speaking, on the way out because of LEDs.

one of the guy's last year had some on his metro at Geoplooza. They looked great but he said they sucked the beams were all over the place beams were not focused!

the best headlights i have ever had on a suzuki variant are the hi/lo hid lamps with ac ballasts. i ordered e code glass headlights from europe and mounted the 6000k lamps in them.

reflective street signs glow at a mile away. cutoff at the upper edge of the beam is precise and the headlights don't blind oncoming traffic. it's like turning on the sun! ;)

i don't think that there's any danger of leds replacing hid lamps in the near future. the industry just doesn't have led technology yet that can challenge the performance of hid lighting.

How are they dangerous?

Are you asking this as a sincere question, or trying to get a viewpoint?

i also want to know how these are dangerous.

i mean, c'mon, hid lighting comes standard on high dollar automobiles like lexus, mercedes, bmw, etc. if hid lighting was dangerous there would an awful lot of liability rolling around out there.

if you mean that conversion kit hid lighting is dangerous when used by idiots i might give you a nod, but even the kits by themselves aren't a hazard.

like i said above. i have not had better lighting than my hi/lo 6000k hid lamps with ac ballasts combined with glass e code lens fixtures.

I don't think LED's put out the lumens needed for headlights at an affordable cost yet. I also think if HID's are blinding you they are adjusted incorrectly. The auto mfg's have very strict and specific laws to comply with for headlights. And one of the big items is not blinding oncoming drivers. Although i think some of the differing colors can be distracting, I'm almost a little suprised the made them legal. I like them myself, but think they could be a slight distraction. It depends on shade, but one of the HID colors is supose to be closer to natural light than regular head light bulbs, at least that's what a lighting engineer told me.

Here's to hoping people assume I am driving a 50,000 dollar car because I picked up three ballast and their projector assembles from a 350z the other day at the PnP for 70 dollars. They even had the h9 (if I remember correctly still in the housings). I'm thinking two up front and one in the rear where the third brake light goes. It will be a moment before they are installed, since I'm still gutting the 96, then swapping the brakes, and chasing down electrical shorts in the 94. One day I'll have clean finger nails again, lol. :banana
