A Ford stereo in a Metro? Won't this make the Metro more likely to get stolen?

Isn't it? His welding is superb. I don't think I've ever seen nicer welds.
Now if only I had measured a few more things, so we could get it right the first time... :smackface
But, for a first go-round, it's great - and just wait until version 2.0! B-)

Got another stereo today, CD and Cassette, from a 2003 Ford Windstar.
Got the harness wired up and tested it/the stereo just now.
It works. B-)
So I don't have to return it to PnP! :banana

So....what car did that wiper stalk come out of....would love to get that integrated with my cruise control and get my aftermarket stalk out.

I like keeping things "stock" looking

Suzuki Esteem, Suzuki Grand Vitara, Chevrolet Tracker, Possibly Suzuki Vitara...
If you don't ever see those in junkyards, send me a PM, and we can discuss details about me getting you one... :deal
P.S. They are a rare option in Esteems, but very common in the Grand Vitaras and Trackers...

Chucked the Ford stereo in so I'd have tunes on the drive back...

The Infamous Ford Stereo is going to its new forever home soon.
In the weirdest of coincidences, there is a lady, who I do not know, on a local "garage sale" Facebook group.
She was looking for cassettes, because her new vehicle doesn't have a CD player.
So I messaged her. What kind of vehicle is it, I inquire.
Why, it's a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker.
!!!!
I happen to have a stereo PRE-WIRED, that will play BOTH CDs AND cassettes.

And now we're making a plan for me to pitch a stereo into her Tracker.

I'm charging her a handy fee of absolutely nothing; but if she tries to insist that she owes me something, I might take a fiver. :dunno
Mostly I just need to thin down my stereo collection!

This would TOTALLY happen at my house, only it wouldn't stop with a single radio surround. :shake

I hope the install goes OK. I want to say after '98 some of the dash stuff started to change in the trackers.... :scared

All the pics I am seeing, show the same exact side-mounting plate system, that I'm familiar with.
4 screws, little nubs in the middle, etc etc.
Same thing as 95-01 Metros, Swifts, etc, as well as Suzuki Esteems, so on, so forth.
