I got this wonderful car for scrap price of $200, she has 230,000kms, and in mechanical terms shes in great shape. the body is a different story though. Rusted areas are as follows:
-Rocker Guards
-Inner wheel wells
-rear fenders
-front lower control arm mount
-front rad support beam
and smaller parts here and there.

Dash was all faded and grey, so I took it apart and painted it black :)

I really like how it turned out! cost of it was an afternoon, and a $5 can of some flat black paint, which is still 1/2 full.
If you notice, there is an after market steering wheel, the previous owner (a teenager) had "Made" fit. All he did was bolt on a after market steering wheel REALLY tight, none of the grooves fit though. bolting it on so tight caused the treads to strip. :/ I fixed it though. :)

So I went down to the nearest wrecker (45 minutes away) and scored a steering wheel, passenger mirror and some felt for a rear hatch cover. all for $30. I painted the steering wheel black and it seems to work.

The car didn't come with a rear hatch cover, or shelf. so I spent an hour making one. took cardboard and made a rough outline of what it should be,

Posted Image

copied it to some 1/8 shelving board

bolted some braces for possible speakers in the future,

and then spray glued the felt I got from the wrecker. I think it turned out good. :)

Yeah took a couple hours just to take it apart. Had my brothers help as well. I found a 'how to' on this site! I don't think it was quite the same. Overall not Too bad. I ended up with
Something like 12-17 screws left over. Lol. On purpose though! There was so many redundant screws that made it a pain to take out.

Haha well the next time I need to pull the dash it will be very easy. And I plan on putting even more undercoating on.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately, life takes over!
So I recently replaced the lower radiator beam, as the old one was clearly in some kind of accident and rusted like crazy!

Posted Image

The new one went in so smoothly I couldn't believe it! I under coated it because why not?!

Posted Image

When I bought the car, I got it for $200 CND which was a steal! But here's why....

Posted Image

And with about 20 min and a come along its now....

Posted Image

It was bent at the mount but it's completely undid it self! Like thank jesus lol.

My car would always go to start but then instantly die, also the cd player would die randomly :/ . I figured it was the shitty battery cable mounts so I replaced them with some off a dodge van! 100x better! The battery doesn't drain anymore and it starts much better :) These clamps actually have a bolt to tighten... Lol

Posted Image

I also undecoated it because I live in Canada where the roads are either winter or construction... Lol and winter means salt... Which means RUST 😡

I Also had to grind off the attempt at a rear sway bar mount and weld in a new one lol.
I admit that my upside down welding isn't the best but it works :p
I welded a plate to the underside, with holes I drilled into it. Went to the wrecker and got a proper unmangled mounting bracket. I used stronger bolts then the steel and just threaded them in! Took about 30 min. And again... Undercoat, lots of it on the mount!

Man, where do you live? Just so I can check it off my places to not want to go. That sway bar looks like it's been in the ocean.
