The temperature of resistors

820 ohm in IAT - ~132F

220 ohm in CT-~199F

The ohm were not exact when I measured with my multimeter it was closer to 816, and 223 or so.

I got a dome light led today, shipped from china for less then $2 CND. The pic on the left is before with the standard incandescent one, and on the right is the led.

I like it, nice and bright.

One of the reasons I love my Rust bucket is for the MPG. Which is obvious I think for anyone of us. I live in Canada, in the country (the boonies). One of my hobbies is tricking, kind of like gymnastics but I teach my self and no tight cloths lol. With my truck driving to Skyzone (indoor trampolining area) would cost me 3x as much as my car! Which means I can go more and for less :) thanks to a lot of you guys for your posts, your project cars, how-to's, and wisdom I'm able to do what I love!

I got the power door locks installed, little modding here and there to fit but wasn't too bad. I planned on filming or at least taking more photos but it's starting to get bloody cold out (for working without a heated garage that is)

Winter is coming fast and thats one of the reasons I got my car road worthy. I went to the wrecker and got some basically brand new Goodyear Nordic tires for $15 each!

Nice find. When running snow tires, do you have to install 4, or are 2 on the front ok? Seems like you might need 4 to keep the traction similar. Thankfully, we don't have to deal with such foolishness in VA. :lol

4 is preferrable but I don't have 4 winter tires. My all seasons are pretty good though, but I wanted my drive/steering tires to have winter tires installed.

Winter is here in Canada, I can happily say this car is safe to drive! Except One thing I only concerned about is the rear defrost. Basically it doesn't work. I took a volt meter to it, the power at it is 14v which is good, but I doesn't heat up at all. Does anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?

Does your switch light up? Sometimes the switch will go out on ya, also check the little wires that attach the defrost panel to the body. They can fray or break. Man you Canadians are some strange folk, it gets below 60 F and I'm freaking out. Don't know how you deal with that wonderland out there! :ermm:

Lights up fine, wires are fine, it's 14v at the connector on the rear window. But it doesn't melt ice, and doesn't melt snow at all. In summer when it would be raining like crazy, the rear window would fog up because of the humity, and I noticed then the switch didn't barely get the humity off. I never left it on long because I didn't know if it would burn out or not. I did check the volts on the actual lines and it was only about 3-4v in the centre of the glass.

So I came to the conclusion the rear window defrost just sucks lol so I took an old plug in heater and wired it into defrost plugs. So it works with the button! Seems to work decently.

It is not pretty, but it works. Safety first!

I haven't posted much lately, because I really haven't done anything. But recently I have been a little disappointed with the 1996 headlight assembly. I took a look at it and realized it was more yellowed then I though, so I did some research and it seems like these lights just suck. Lol so I went to the wrecker and got some newer head lights I believe.

Followed your guys' tutorial

Before (sanded with 600, and then 1000)

After (clear coated 4-5 times)

And then after some modifying of the wiring and such. I also changed the signal lights and then installed some fog lights in there place.

Thanks! I counted the lines on road by my house, with the old yellowed lights it was 3 lines far I could see. Now I can see 5 lines! Very happy with them. Not sure what 9007 bulb to use now though, any suggestions anyone?

Silverstars are nice without going crazy on price or wattage. You should go under the dash right now, disconnect and reconnect everything on the fusebox. That will clean and renew the connections, they're prone to burning. Best solution is to mount relays so the standard car wiring is just switching the relay, and the relay is providing direct battery voltage to the headlights. Your lights will be brighter, and the heavy load will be taken off the weak wiring.
