It's amazing in such harsh places they don't make cars out of a different metal, like here what's the point in painting a car it burns off in a few years then looks like :shit round your place why make cars from steel, I'm sure there's other metals out there.

Oh, my mistake. :smackface Lol I remember looking underneath and seeing it not on the oil pan. But that was when I installed the hot air intake. Probably all the fumes from painting the exhaust shroud got to my head lol 😂
:lol Those darn fumes!

I think it's not the metal but the thickness. There are plenty of higher end vehicles that aren't rusted very badly, other then surface rust. Because the body and frame are thick gauge metal. Thin gauge as you are aware rusts extremely easy, but from all the vehicles I've seen and worked on Thick guage metal, rusts to a point, the that's it. Almost like the rust seals itself in. Like if metal only rusts 1/16 of an inch then stops, that's basically nothing on a 1/4 thick chassis, but on metros, that's all the way through. Lmao. And as for paint, up here in northern Manitoba Canada, the only paint jobs I've honestly noticed have been bad and peeling are dodge neons, Ike all of them. Must just be terribly cheap paint lol.

So I have recently read about the forenza cluster ad thought it would really update the dash, so I have been waiting...

But got impatient with doing it the proper way, so I gutted the cluster and made it work.

Had to wire in
Turn signals
Highbeams warning
Gas gauge
Temp gauge
Tachometer
Dash lights
And installed speedo.

I'm running 195/60/R15s and the mph is almost exactly what my kph should be surprisingly lol. I'm in Canada so that's prefect for me.

Otherwise so far so good. The tachometer is set to 8cyl and is dead on, which is awesome.

Replaced front crank seal because it was leaking bad. The single most difficult thing I've ever done! 13 hours from start to finish, the majority of the time making a specific tool to remove the timing gear. Ever single bolt basically was rusted in place lol

To remove the crankshaft gear bolt, as terrible and redneck and just terrible, I put a 6side impact 17mm socket and a braker bar on crankshaft gear bolt, and cranked the engine to break it free. This was the ONLY way to break it free. Lol thank god I had my brothers help as well. If I had all the tools we made, and knowledge now to do it, probably would be a 2hour tops project.

Installed a start button today. In reality it's redundant and technically wastes time, but I really like it so whatever lol I'll post a pic and videos tomorrow of it completed

And the finished piece. Wired in a relay to it. Works beautifully! Redundant yes I know, actually now technically harder to start my car. But I like it lol
