so I am working on this geo.. its a 91 3 cyl, 5 speed has AC *idk if that matters but o well..* so there is a wire cut in half and capped off at both then ends *weird counting its location.. but ..* the wires locations its on the front of the engine block , appears to be a sensor , and directly above the oil filter , and all most right beside the motor mount by the timing belt / chain, ready , set .. and go.. I think its the oil pressure sensor..

Does it look like a factory type of wire? Are both ends of the wire the same color. What is the color of the wire and does it have another colored stripe on it? A picture would help.

next question, my temp gauge doesn't work, autozone doesn't have the temp gauge sensor, is the duralast coolant sensor a match?

Yes the coolant temp sensor they have listed should work. I don't have a older model like yours. If i remember right your engine has a sensor for the gauge and another sensor for the ecu and fan control.

If the gauge doesn't work it can be either the gauge itself, the wiring, or the sensor.
