96 metro radio issue with lights; parking lights stay on with car on

i used a wire harness to install a radio in my 96 metro. all went well but, after i installed it now the parking lights are on all the time when the car is on. the radio will turn on if the car is off and i turn on the parking lights. any ideas how this came to be? i have installed many radios with and without harnesses and never had this problem. i also dont see any modifications to the factory wiring at the moment.

is the orange wire on the radio harness connected to anything? to me it sounds as though there is a wire interconnecting them. when the car is on, the radio is receiving power and its back feeding to the lights. then when the car is off and you turn the lights on its back feeding to the radio.

IMO, there is a wire connecting the two together, I would double check your wiring harness.

just my .02

great idea. there was an illumination wire for the radio, maybe its now sending a signal to my lights and vice versa. i will check it out and report back.
