metro speakers on doors?

dose anyone know how much watts OEM speakers can take? my passenger one is messed up lol

also what are good speakers like brand names? that people used and got good sound out of it and are happy with it

if your 99' sedan is like my 96' metro sedan. they should be 6.5 inch speakers. dont get anything rated for crazy power cause the magnets wont clear the window glass and track system. i used these, not too bad. fit and sound nice plus the price is low. you can splurge a bit but remember big magnets wont fit.

Stock is probably 7 watts or so.

I used Infinity 6.5/6.75" coaxials which had a high sensitivity rating, I think it was 93 db. High sensitivity matters if you're keeping the factory radio. Caught them on sale at Crutchfield at $50 a pair. They bolted right in and the factory grills covered them perfectly. Big improvement in sound and invisible to crack heads for $100 and three or four hours work

i read something they were like a 4 inch speaker didn't think they were 6.5 or 6.75 inches

That's the GEN2 (89 - 94) cars you're thinking about. They had 4" speakers on the top of the dash. All GEN3 (95 - 01) cars got 6.5" all around.
