I got these brake lines:![]() I put them on. Brake fluid still leaked. Verified that brake fluid is coming out of the screw itself. Are they the right thread size? Can anyone verify the proper thread size for brake lines? Tried searching to no avail. |

Those are the right lines, but you must get the nut very tight to seat properly. |

There are two types of line fittings. standard flare or metric "bubble flare". The Metro uses standard 3/16" line and fittings. |

I was thinking that. I used TWO of these. One of them crossthreaded after 2 weeks. The replacement still couldnt fit in and got crossthreaded again. I've done brake lines before but this particular bendable brake line's been giving me problems. I even think the other side (same bendable brake line) isn't really as secure as I thought. I see it ooze out a little bit. Getting frustrated here. I was late for work today because of what a simple 30 minute brake bleeding ended up being a 2 hour headache. |

If they've gotten cross threaded it's likely time for new lines and new brake cylinders...

Well, well... Turns out the metric flare was correct and the standard was incompatible. Look at the difference of the flares. ![]() Brake problems gone. Works 100% now. ![]() Not loose anymore!

I need to replace a leaking brake line on my 96 Geo Metro, & was hoping to determine the line size & fitting thread type before I head off to buy parts. 3/16 line & Standard thread or Metric thread? Can somebody please confirm BOTH the line size & thread for certain. Much appreciated. Jack |
