I wanted to take the cluster out and put in some new bulbs until I can order the led bulbs. I have never pulled it out and it looks like it will be a little more challenging then a 89. Any ideas? |

How big are your hands? Large hands will have a hard time unplugging the wires. The first one is the hardest, after that one end will rotate out some and make it easier to get your hand in. Disconnect the speedometer cable first. It is doable in an afternoon the first time, an hour the next time. |

I actually do have large hands. Its plugging everything back which im sure will be very difficult. Is it easier to take the dash off vs. Trying to pull the cluster off? |

nooooo. Dash is a major bitch. My hands are pretty big, and I'm able to get it out, just get all scratched up. Lowering the steering column makes it a little easier. It is also hardest the first time, since the plugs seem to kinda glue themselves in. Release tabs are in the middle of the plug on top. Squeeze and wiggle, a lot, usually. Be sure to have an assistant or your cell nearby, in case you get stuck.

I wonder if extending the plugs would make it easier in the future. But then comes the short spedo cable..... |

And generally once you remove the plugs they are easier to get out after that. Also knowing how to get it out makes the process easier as well. If you decide you want to extend the plugs, let me know, I think I have some cut off.

First step to removing the dashboard is to remove the cluster. It's not that bad, just go for it. |

You need two t10 bulbs for the illumination and t5 for the rest of the indicators and dash |

94 FSM section 8B. Lighting Systems Go to page 8B-14 and 15 for a complete list of bulbs. In the same section of the manual is a drawing of what bulbs go where in the dash. The Factory service manual for a 94 is found in the manuals section of the forum here: 94 FSM |
