My recent purchase 1992 Metro convertible with 68000 original miles has a problem with the gas tank sending unit. It is not the dash gauge. It is stuck at 1/4 tank. Will a unit from a 1998 Metro fit it? How hard is it to remove the gas tank I havent done that before. What year cars can I get a sending unit from. The local junk yard only has 1996 and later Metros no early ones. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Will not work. Differant design. The later model has a fuel sender by itself while the vert has its built into the pump assembly. I have a vert sender I might swap you for a good sender out of a 95 or later model if it is the same as mine. Here is mine out of a 95. 96 and later should be similar to this one. http://geometroforum.com/topic/5400925/1/#new The square one posted in this thread should be like the one in your vert. http://geometroforum.com/single/?p=881109&t=4464045 . |

I havent taken the tank out yet from the 92 convertible. I do have access to a 1998 Metro ready for the scrap yard due to rust in the front suspension mounts. I can have anything I want off it. I am taking the front and rear anti sway bars to put on the convertible. Its a shame the car still runs well but is real rusty on the underside. |
