First, gather your tools!![]() Yep, that's really all you need: (1) #2 Philips Screwdriver (1) #3 Philips Screwdriver First, remove these four #2 screws: ![]() Then remove this push rivet: ![]() To remove a push rivet, push down on the dot in the center; you can use your #2 screwdriver for this. The center will sink down in, and get caught by the prongs on the underside; unless they're broken. Once the center is down, get a fingernail under the edge and pry up to remove. To reinstall later, push the dot back up from the underside until it is "too high", install rivet in hole, push dot back down flush. You will also need to remove the "christmas tree" fastener; mine is black. OEM ones are gray. (Big black circle on the right of the picture.) Now remove 3 of these screws (#3 Philips; do NOT use a #2, you will STRIP your screws!), or, all 5 of them. ![]() You need to remove the one inside of the wire loop; it holds down the seat bottom. You need to remove the two on the top portion of the hinge. You can remove the two on the bottom part of the hinge, but you do not need to. Remove these christmas trees: ![]() Shot doesn't really give much context for location; this is in the middle of the carpet attached to the back of the seat; at the bottom. Again, mine are black; yours should be gray. Take out the seat back and put it somewhere convenient! ![]() You need to unhook these hooks; to be honest I kicked them in a sort of inwardly/upwardly direction. Took a couple of kicks but it got the job done! ![]() They're on the front corners of the seat bottom; see the speaker grill, for context? Push your seat belt buckles down and through the seat bottom. ![]() Remove the seat bottom and put somewhere convenient. The seat back was lonely... ![]() The side panels are held on with, I don't know what they're called. Pop-ball fasteners or some such. Grab part of the panel, now that it's all loose, and pry. You will notice several popping sensations as the panel pulls free. ![]() Don't forget to remove this push rivet, too! It holds down the front/bottom of the side panel! ![]() Panel off! ![]() Put your panels... you guessed it! Somewhere convenient. Interior party! ![]() If you have rear factory speakers installed, it will look a lot like this: ![]() If you don't have rear speakers installed, it will look more like this: ![]() Note the factory speaker connector, nicely taped to the wall! Unscrew and unplug the originals, if you have them... ![]() If you had no speakers, the holes are not threaded. Self-tapping screws? So now, plug in your speaker; I used some nice speaker harness adapters so I didn't have to solder anything. ![]() And screw the speaker down! Note how the wires are going through that hole on the side? They are very loose in that hole. They should have an inch or two of free play. Make sure you don't smash them under the speaker by accident. ![]() Don't forget, of course: All of these instructions need to be repeated on the other side of the car... The speakers I used are Pyle PL63BL: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000230LC2 The speaker harness I used is a Metra 72-4500 (actually mine were branded IMC Audio 72-4500): http://www.ebay.com/itm/360586196866 And everyone's favorite completion instructions: Do all of that again, but backwards. ![]() I know this seems intimidating, but let me assure you; it takes less time than you think. My first picture was taken at 7:24 PM. My last, 7:45 PM. I worked for a little while afterwards sticking it all back together, and didn't take any more pics. So, call the whole project about an hour. And that's including the fact that I was stopping to take pictures. |

VERY NICE!!! One thing I would add: A "T" handle #3 phillpshead can help to get those screws loose if needed. If you're never pulled them, they are VERY, VERY, VERY tight from the factory.

Thank you, yiffzer! Thank you, Stiffchezze! And that's true... However, my #3, if you look closely, has a hex bolster on it. On the shaft, right next to the handle. You can put a wrench on it to help turn those stubborn screws. ![]() Came from NAPA; cost me about $13.50 IIRC. |

They are round, prob 6"ish. On the front they were just a hair big as the basket got stuck in the hole leaving them about 1/2" out.... but I screwed them in as the door panel allowed for a 1" bump-out.... They are factory, but much nicer than most and the front two sound awesome. Plus I got all 4 for $5 & they were an EASY pull at the yard, just popped the cover off, no need for the whole panel (on the donor)... |

For the radio I got a Pyle radio on ebay, no CD but USB & 3.5mm input. Mounted the adaptor shelf up and it works great for holding my cell phone. Never messed around with MP3's on my phone... but it works great just plugging it into the radio. Plus can charge phone or my ecig battery off radio USB. For >$50 for radio, adaptor & speakers it's a good setup, and don't care if anyone steals it lol |

Excellent guide. Wish I had something like this to look at the first time I tore out the rear panels...I haven't had a chance to pull the front seats yet- got pics?

How do you like the speakers, Mythstae? Will these also fit in the front spots with no issues? (I need to replace all 4) and nice find on the adapters. |

They are good! Lots better than the OEM ones. They're obviously not gonna be a concert hall or anything, but they're nice, and they're cheap. They DO fit in the front, yes. I have the same ones in my doors. ![]() Had to browse around a little for those adapters, but it was worth it! |
