Pines should be easy to find because it is a couple of years old. We grabbed it on a "Free HBO Weekend" on Dish Network. We watched Oculus a couple of days ago. It wasn't the scariest movie in the world but it was fairly interesting. |

I was going to write nearly the same thing! In Farscape, she was a no-nonsense comando from a militaristic society where success is measured in body-count and patricide is a sign of strength. The story-line started out slow, but it all gelled to an interesting drama and most of all... a logically written conclusion. This is what I call SciFi - NOT as they call today SyFy of which includes WWF WRestling in their programming format. Edited by BillHoo, Jul 24 2014, 01:02 PM.

Moneyball Sometimes a movie just jumps out at you and says "I'm a darn good movie." That is what Moneyball is to me. A darn good movie. The acting is ok and the back story is hohum, and the time Billy spends with his kid could be cut out of the movie and nothing would be lost. But the storyline is intrigues me. I read the book and it is somewhat similar to the movie. Or viseversa. Get it on Redbox and skip any parts with the sappy kid. You won't miss anything. How to build a baseball team with undervalued players. Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. 9/10 |

Watched Transcendence tonight. Not a bad sci-fi movie. I would stay away from the trailer (too many spoilers) if you plan to watch: **** Oh, one of the bad guys drives a Geo Metro!!! ***** Edited by rmcelwee, Aug 5 2014, 10:32 PM.

The Movie - "Wish I Was Here" Starring Zach Braff as a down-on-his-luck actor who has recently converted to the jewish faith. Was expecting so much more out of Zach (especially after Scrubs and Garden State!). Results: 2 out of 5 stars. Acting is fine but story is cliche and over-stretched. My analysis? Don't go see it unless you really like to see jewish people get made fun of in a border-line racist manner |

Watched Lucky Number Slevin again tonight (2006). It isn't The Usual Suspects but does have a slight twisted (although predictable) ending. Not a horrible movie. |

"HIGHWAY" (Jared Leto) Anyone remember any of those stupid ass party and road trip flicks from the seventies? HIGHWAY is a stupid ass party and road trip flick from the nineties... That about sums the whole thing up. |

Riddick (Vin Diesel) The latest installment of the Riddick series and I must say I was not disappointed. Good story line, good visuals, and a hot naked chick. What more does a man need in a movie? Plus the ending makes another episode a real possibility. Riddick gets tossed off the Necromonger ship and is sent to Furia. But what he soon realizes is that the planet is a shell and is not Furia. He has to fight some beasties and bad dudes in order to get off the planet. Kinda cool on how he leaves clues to the humans on how he is going to get off that rock. I give it a 9/10 because I enjoy the series so much. The eggheads on IMDB gave it a 6/10. You watch, you decide. |

HELL YES, got to watch a good movie this morning. I highly recommend Edge of Tomorrow. This is three high quality movies in a row that Tom Cruise has been in: - Jack Reacher - Oblivion - Edge of Tomorrow I don't know who is picking his movies now but they are doing an excellent job. It is nice to see he is finally getting some winners. Too bad that he is going to screw up his streak when Mission: Impossible 5 and Top Gun 2 come out next year. When I saw the previews for this it reminded me of Lawnmower Man from the 90's. |

Me too. I kept waiting for all the phones in the world to ring at the same time (like they did in Lawnmower Man) as a signal when Depp finally "got in". Edited by rmcelwee, Aug 17 2014, 10:51 AM.
