Hey guys, it's been a few weeks since I posted a new member thread, and now I am making good on my promise to start a build thread. I bought my metro for a good amount of cash ($1100). I was really looking for a festiva, but this was about as clean as I could hope for, so I jumped on the deal. For pictures of the metro, look for my thread "new in town" in the intro section.

So, on to the build. Tonight I picked up a running and driving 1998 Honda CRV. It is awd, manual, and in pretty damn good shape overall. As you can see where this is going, I am planning to create an awd, Honda powered Geo Metro. It will be naturally aspirated to start, followed by either turbocharged or twincharged after that.

Some specs for you guys:
98 crv: 2.0 non vtec
126hp/131tq
Awd
Manual

and here are a few pics.

and last but not least, I lost my key temporarily, so the first modification I did to my car was to put a push button start on it, haha.

Well that video hasn't posted, so I'll post it up tomorrow. Also, I'll post a small video of my old 99 crv that I switched the stock awd system out with a range rover driveshaft.

thanks for looking!

Well, so much for videos off of photobucket, mightmight have to upload them to youtube.

I started tearing the motor out of the crv, and I also scored a killer deal on a b 16 head, which I don't expect you guys to know about, but it's an extremely high flowing Honda head, with vtec, which n/a on a b20 adds about 40whp. Here is a pointless picture:

This should be quite incredible once you finish.

Also, I'm glad you picked a Metro instead of a Festiva...we need more fast Metros.

Hahaha, it's funny because there are a lot of fast festys, relatively that is (13 second cars, a few in the 12's), but there are hardly any quick metros....

There's a tube car that was in the 9 seconds. (not a Metro at all) and a Suzuki Swift aka Geo Metro that's in the 10s, but those are complete outliers.

The Festivas benefit from being able to use Mazda stuff, right?

The tube car was a guy from my town, nasty grand national motor... and yeah, Mazda 323 gt/gtx stuff is pretty easy to swap to a festy. I was planning the same drive train for a festy that I'm doing now though, so the chassis really didn't matter which way I went, because it's pretty much all custom...

Well took all sorts of time, but the motor and trans are out of the crv, getting partially cleaned, as most of the motor was black from soot....

Not much to report today. Mocked up the aftermarket intake I had lying around on the motor to take some measurements for physically fitting the engine in the geo engine bay
