Where does the sway bar mount?

Also, can't use the front spindle that the a-arm slides on, because the trans and axles are right there!

Well I finished the lower brace this morning, but I can't check it, because somehow the fuel pump is not kicking on, so I can't take it for a drive....

I may add another brace point on the drivers side. The reason I had to cut it down and only bolt it through one hole was the front bolt on the drivers side must be completely frozen up. I put roughly 250ftlbs on it and it didn't move at all. On the drivers side I can use the front where the nut is, but I'm going to see how this is first.

That's the bit that needs bracing the most.

My brace is mounted to the same piece, it's just through the mounting holes to the chassis.

So today I made some progress, but not the progress you would expect. While not working on the car for the better part of 3 months, the car developed some issues. Went to take it for a spin, car wouldn't go above 10:1 afr, not good.... well the coolant temp sensor took a crap on me. It read -40° after I checked it with the laptop... Fixed that today. Fuel pump relay quit working. Had massive amounts of corrosion on it, fixed that today. My cooling fan relay quit working, same thing..... battery died and wouldn't hold a charge, replaced that.....

So finally I am now ready to do some testing to see if the braces stopped the vibration/rubbing! Hopefully I can do that tomorrow.

Also I purchased a Walbro 450lph fuel pump, as my 255 is running fine but it is 11 years old. Also purchased 750cc injectors, which will easily support my power level, even with e85.

So next on the list after test driving, will be hooking up vtec through an rpm switch, making sure it works, then I think it's boost time!!!! I picked up an intercooler for an sti, for the price of free, so I'm going to try to make it work.

I'm sure starting to take a long time on this build!

On another note, if you haven't seen this before, this geo is a much better design than mine for awd....

I sure hope so!

So today I started wiring up the rpm switch and relay to control vtec, and all is hooked up minus the tach signal. I tried using tach out coming from megasquirt, but I think I need the signal coming from the disty that I used for tach in on the ms unit. I'll try that when I get back home.

Well I fried my alternator, because of my own stupidity. But I now have vtec working! I am in process of making a traction bar setup. Pics of that to come

Well I made a little progress last night on the traction bar setup. I think this will really tie the front end together once it's finished. I still haven't fixed the alternator, that will happen when the bars are done. On to some pics:

The 90 the in and out takes is not ideal, and I would crunch the numbers on the total volume verse your expect high rpm cfm's of air output to see if that fmic is within your target size. I haven't actually checked to see what will fit upfront as far as width and height, but with the restrictions you might actually have to have a fmic that is 4" thick. The number of rows and channel length is not too bad also for pressure resistance verse heat reduction.

I guess I'm wondering what we are bracing here? :dunno Does the lower radiator support flex that much? :hmm The frame anchoring material is only 12-10ga tops. :news And spot welded to boot. :smackface Please explain your theory. :popcorn

A traction bar is not the same thing as you are used to seeing on this forum.
