1993/4 Suzuki Swift that I "acquired" for $200.oo

Until recently it was sidelined because I was stubbornly chasing a 1/4 ton Ranger V8 truck project, but at this time I have to get a set of wheels on the road ASAP. So the focus shifted...

I'm pretty sure this pic goes way back to 2010 or even earlier:

Wow, sounds like a project for sure. Welcome to the forum. I wanna see some pics! I can't wait to see some wall of shame material as you tear down the car and make things nice again.

Hopefully I can continually edit posts so that whatever I leave out I can add - though I notice there's a "RAT-ME-OUT" that comes up when a post has been edited.

One of the things I found out about the car is that the previous owner, hereinafter referred to as YDP (Young Dumb Punk) had dumped a five pound bag of sugar into the fuel tank when he realised he was in way over his head as far as fixing everything he had already trashed on the car.

I'm thinking "ROADSTER" for the most part, and a roadster that I can use to blaze a trail down the interstate from coast to coast with, in reasonable comfort in my old and moss-grown dotage - though 55 ain't old, from what people tell me these days.
Nice picture, and acquiring the picture posting skills. :thumb As for the "RAT-ME-OUT" feature, when you do, you may notice a line that says "Show that you edited this post" and you can un-check that box, although in some cases it' nice to know. :-/

And the "YDP" is a common occurrence with these cars. Mine was run out of oil. His mechanic uncle could not fix the low oil pressure so I got mine for $300, delivered in the driveway... with the engine in pieces in the hatch. :banghead

"I'm thinking "ROADSTER" for the most part" and you can get Moon Disk hubcaps that will add 1 mpg to your FE. B-) I sort of went roadster. I added a header and street/race cam along with the glasspack. Basically everything in my signature below and I still get 55-57 mpg highway.

55? You are only young once but you can be immature your whole life. :thumb

Good bye

I am almost 59 and I enjoy my Swift powered Metro as much as my 30 year old 350 Chevy powered ski boat. Rock on brother from a different mother.

I think you'll find 16" wheels to be a bit much. 15 x 6.5" with 195/50-15 is the biggest you want to go, even then they'll rub a bit on full compression.

Nice to see you like to garden as well, I do enjoy growing food, sure is nice to taste food you worked to grow. I don't care so much for the flowers as much as food. Love the taste of garden food, healthy fresh and yum

I think I may have to go with glass swift lights (saw them mentioned on another post somewhere here)
It does look a lot cleaner with the swift style lights, and I have no word from who I was talking to about Metro lights..

Tomorrow should be interesting.
It was over here: http://geometroforum.com/single/?p=915776&t=5524814
In your GOTTA FIND: 1993 Geo Metro Headlight Assly, & Bumper Cover thread.
Don't forget, you gotta keep the Swift hood, if you use Swift lights. Metro hood for Metro lights. Also the upper bumper cap.

Oh, and matching corner marker lights...

Get a factory service manual, even the one for the Metro should work fine, just some small differences. It is the only way to go. Check ebay.

I do two searches on eBay.

#1: http://www.ebay.com/1993+geo+metro+manual+shop

#2: http://www.ebay.com/1993+geo+metro+manual+service

Between 'shop' and 'service' I think the bases are covered.
Your "ship to" location will be different and it could be free, like Kmart....

I also like the idea of a spoiler "LIP" on the very bottom edge, but I have no idea where I am going to get the metal for it just yet.
:hmm
Had to pull together a couple of links for this.
Ok, so.
I don't know what it's made of. Metal, plastic, or what.
But in this thread: Front air dam

I have one. I will post pics soon, snow all over here.
Made from the lower spoiler of a mid 90's Chevrolet Blazer S10.
Dam# near a perfect fit.
I am getting ready to pull it off for the winter. It keeps acting like a dozer blade in the snow. (we don't get snow here, got 8 inches last weekend, calling for more this weekend)
Mileage increase? maybe 5%. No true A-B-A-B testing to verify. Mileage log shows increase, but also some decrease as well.
I went to 13 inch wide tires from 12 inch skinny tires at the same time. I believe they balanced each other out.
Next summer it is coming off and I will replace it with a full under-body panel.
Hope this helps.

In this thread: Schultz' Metro; Getting ready for the trip to Ashtabula for 'Palooza
He posted this pic: Posted Image
I do not know if that pic is of that component. But maybe!
