Ive never tried this, but these dudes I know restored the faded part of their BOAT with a propane torch. See video. ![]() |

yep you can use a good heat gun to do it too yes it should work. the critical part is good even spacing and speed so it all looks the same when your done. though if there are SLIGHT differences apparently after a few days this evens out. some guys did it on faded jeep plastic. I am going to try it on my minivan plastic. |

This looks like a task you shouldn't try after that 44-oz. kidney flusher of Mountain Dew!! Takes an awfully steady hand and a light touch! I like the idea of a good heat gun better. More control, less chance of needing that fire extinguisher you always have on hand. (You do have a fire extinguisher on hand when exposing flammable plastics to flames, don't you???) |

Yeah the heat gun is probably better, Id like to see someone do a heat repair to a geo bumper and dash. |

hmmm dash is DIFFERENT. that is VINYL not "plastic" I would not do this to a dash. |

The 95 up style (at least) is plastic, not vinyl and 95/96 models have a very bad plastic compound that rots in the sun. |
