If you look in the left side of the engine bay near the engine oil dipstick you should see it, it's toward the back behind the water pump, pretty hard to miss (even though its pretty well snug in the 1.3L) |

Passenger side back at fire wall. Low on engine. Look at the water pump belt at the rear most pulley that is your alternator. |

The next question is, how to get it out? Getting the bolts out isn't that bad, but getting the alternator itself to come out from under the intake is not a lot of fun. It might be slightly easier on a 5-speed, but I don't think so. Usually on the 4-cylinders, you move the alternator in different directions for about 10 minutes trying to find a big enough space to get it out, then it slips out of your hand and lands on your head. |

Remove the black plastic air intake tube. Remove oil dip stick. Then you can remove and install.just turn slight sideways and it will pull right out |

10 minutes? You must be a genius, or one of those guys who does the Rubik's cube in 90 seconds. I F-ed around with mine for two hours, was toying with the idea of removing the steering rack. Finally I decided to just bend the A/C lines and pull it out the top. |
