I bought a ultrasonic cleaner to help clean up some of the parts for my engine. Have any of you used a ultrasonic cleaner to clean your throttle body? If you have cleaned with one what liquid did you use in the cleaner? I have read some cleaners can damage the aluminum. |

I use water and simple green because it's what I had on hand. No danger in damaging the aluminum and works well. |

This was a typically carboned up cylinder head. It spent a few hrs in the ultrasonic cleaner. See how clean the exhaust ports came? That is with no scrubbing. Rinse with water every hour or so and this is the result. The concentrate cleaners I used are below. The Fireline Evergreen A44 came with the used ultrasonic cleaner I got and it is excellent on carbon. The Sharpertek 1220 is very good removing oil and sludge and the 1852 is what is called a burnisher. It removes corrosion as well as anything could. The aluminum surface that is not badly corroded ends up looking almost like new. All of them are mixed with water and 5% cleaner so they last a long time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

clarkdw you have a pretty big ultrasonic cleaner. Mine is not that big. The cleaners you use looks to be top of the line, but if you want something that works well and fast then that's what you have to use. Did you mix the different cleaners into it at the same time or in different steps one at a time? Would it be recommended to remove the injector itself before putting in the ultrasonic cleaner? I don't want to damage it. Thanks. Edited by freegeo, Jul 18 2014, 09:10 AM.
