That would be oil coming through the PCV valve. Replace the valve for starters but the likely cause is blowby past the rings. The other possibility would be an "oil fart" which is a loss of power accompanied by a large cloud of oil smoke behind the car. There is some dispute on the exact cause of the oil fart but it generally indicates a worn out engine. A compression check is likely in order to determine the baseline health of the motor. Clean your PCV, associated hose and air filter housing. Wash your air filter. Very little cost---do this and wait to see what happens. After 1000 miles or so check to see if oil is still in the housing and if so consider MMMs suggestions above. "How To" cleaning the air filter go here: http://geometroforum.com/topic/4613268/1/ |

rock auto will probably cost more for shippin than the part. check with you local auto parts store. NAPA, Autozone, oriellys etc etc |

Just ordered PCV, distributor cap & rotor, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs & wires. also cleaned up the engine bay. |
