Pre-Cut Tint?; Anybody tried this?

Found pre-cut tint kits on e-bay for around $25, and was wondering if anyone here had tried using these kits to tint their own windows. Looking at my '97 3/5, it looks like the rears and the hatch could be OK, but I was worried a little about the doors.

I have never tried pre cut tint, but the cutting part is not the part that makes a novice tint job look bad. The challenge is in applying the tint. The hatch would be the most challenging because it is so concave and you need a heat gun to go with those years of tinting experience. $25 is not a huge loss if you screw it up, and the experience should be valuable regardless of how the tint job turns out. You can't go too wrong by giving it a try.

The hatch is also difficult because, unless you take it off and set it on a bench, you're working upside down in a very awkward position!

The side windows in my car are okay, but the same tint on the pop-up sunroof deserves a place on the Wall of Shame!

Surface prep and patience are your keys to success. Work clean and work carefully. You don't want any lint or dog hairs under it!
