I am fighting a parts ordering battle here and not yet winning. I thought maybe consolidating everyone's efforts regarding obtaining NEW trim retainer clips might be a help to everyone. The last (newest) information I could find was in the garage project forum and it never really resolved itself with any definitive help for new parts, just sort of petered out with grabbing catch as catch can at the wrecking yard. I have ordered some clips from ebay but got the wrong ones (despite trying not to ) and my brother ordered some from amazon and they too didnt fit right . Hoping the considerable collective intelligence represented on this site can help me keep my interior plastic panels from rattling using the exact right new part ! If this is a repeat please forgive me but I am tired of trying to stockpile a bunch of too brittle old plastic zots in the wrong color (I need the blue ones but only ever seem to find gray or black!) from the junkyard where half of them break an arm when you try to pull them and a good portion of the remaining break an arm when you try to reinstall them . Here is a link to the post from "Project 94 RHD Metro" by GeoZone http://geometroforum.com/topic/4898629/12/ . Postings from October 19, 2012 have the pictures and the information that was hashed over at the time. No definitive success for ordering new was written.Measurements of the original zot: 15mm diam. head; 9mm stem length (not including push pin); shaft diam. of approx. 7mm but this varies depending where pin is positioned if inserted at all. Has anyone successfully ordered NEW push-type retainers that they were satisfied with right from the box? My attempts so far have all ended up with not quite the right size despite ordering from the measurements. I believe the gray colored part number from GM was 96062599 but it is obsolete so I have never had one from the dealer in my hand to compare. Edited by hotrodbod, Jul 21 2014, 09:12 PM.
