The final step in replacing my 92 geo water pump consisted of putting the four bolts into the water pump pulley and the first bolt sheared despite NOT having reached torque, so I stopped immediately. Has this happened to anyone else? Do I replace the water pump AND pulley (since the sheared bolt is still in them)? What are the options? If any other(s)? Thank you. |

Remove the pulley and remove the broken bolt in the pump. Get another bolt and try again. Just use a small ten mm wrench and you should not be able to break them off. |
