I've had some bad experiences with Simple Tires. Word of the wise, you really do get what you pay for. Think hard since it's the only part of the car that touches the ground...

Thats the exact same tread pattern as Douglas radials you get at Walmart. Same manufacturer? :hmm :smackface

Tires-Easy.com has Maxtours with an 80,000 mile warranty for 32.10/each.

You have to watch these warehouse resellers. for NOS (New Old Stock) parts and tires are no exception.
There is a 4 digit "brand" near the bead on all tires since around 2000, something like "2309". It may have some "letters" to indicate the location, but the operative words here are "23", meaning 23rd week and "09", meaning 2009. That's the manufacture date. Where has it been all this time?
Never mounted tires that have been kept in "Ideal" controlled climate conditions are only "Good" for 5 years, before installation, so buying a set of these, at whatever price, is a gamble.
That being said, passing up a sweet deal on some odd size tires is hard to do. My Metro LSi is currently running on a 12 year old set of these MayPops, I got off a 36 year old car. But It rarely gets over 40 mph. My biggest worry is rim cutting them on a pothole.
I've also heard rumors in another forum, that some of these bargain warehouse tires aren't persactly "ROUND", either. Not a real issue for city driving, but will rattle your teeth at 60+ mph on a long commute.

Manufacture date stamps have been on tires since at least the mid 70s, if not longer.

Maybe you were thinking about when Budweiser "invented" the "born on" date for beer? ;)

^ True, but the more-specific four-digit date stamps were introduced in 2000. For tires made before 2000 you only get three digits (example: 219) which means the tires were made in the 21st week of the ninth year of the decade, but there is no specification on which decade, so two tires with "219" could be decades apart in age.

So...these are not tires that have been sitting for two or three years somewhere. Sounds like a good deal to me!
