Ok, so I am getting ready to do the wiring hysterectomy on the wiring harness for the EV conversion. Basically, I want to remove anything from the factory harness that is related to the gasoline engine, and leave only the lighting, wipers, and horn. Here is the harness: ![]() My first trivia question is what these two boxes are for. They mount to the inside of the firewall, above the heater box. I am guessing that they are related to the fan, but not sure. Anybody know what these boxes are for? Here are the two boxes in question: ![]() Next simple thing... I have not been able to round up the lid for this relay box, so I don't what relay or fuse is for what. Anybody have a pic of the lid or know what each item is for? I am hoping that there might be some stuff that I can re purpose...

The big box is the A/C amplifier. Basically, it controls when the A/C is on based on engine speed, load, pressures, etc. For your project it can be caned. The little box kinda looks like the key/light/seat belt minder. Not 100% on that one though.

When I gutted the harness for my first conversion, I was able to just walk over my gas burner Metro and see what all the plugs went to, but I don't have an early gas burner Metro around to compare this one to. I wonder if somebody can identify what the plugs on this section go to. This is the branch of harness that goes to the wiper motor. I already removed the diagnostic connector with all the purple wires on it. ![]() I don't know what this plug is for or what the little chip thingy is for. ![]() The other end of that black plug goes here. If I can eliminate that black plug, then I can eliminate this big ass gray one. This is where the wires from the little black plug go. These black and brown wires here are all that is left of this grey plug, and I can then drop it on the heap of stuff that is gone from this car. ![]() Here is a closer shot of this other thing that is on this section of harne ss... |

So rather than play trivia (which I'm not good at), how about taking a look at this thread? How to pull a G10 by starscream5000. So many pictures, so little time. Just trying to get answers sooner.
