Found a ~'94 4-door Metro at the 'yard. Great looking passenger seat. Only problem is my car is a 2-door XFi. I didn't want to rip it out because I didn't want one that wouldn't fit. Am I worrying over nothing? My seat is sort of ripped up right now. I could probably sew it back together with fishing line but that one I saw at the PnP looked pretty. And it looks like the exact same seat. I would eventually like to find a Suzuki Esteem or something and steal its seats. Not a huge fan of how the Metro seats are for long trips. But I can get by with a DIY seat cushion for now.

Completely swappable. The only Metro seats that aren't a direct swap are the ones from a 'Vert, and even that doesn't require too much work. Go get them. Also, the late model years changed the foam chemistry and it's a higher quality ride all together. You'll be glad you did it. Best one I've sat in came out of a 2000 Sedan, as far as Metro seats go. I rank the Rio as the best upgrade, followed closely by the Esteem, then base model seats. I've yet to sit in a GTi seat, but I imagine it to be like of like sitting on the toilet of God, not a majestic throne, but quite nice none the less. Edited by jonathan180iq, Jul 29 2014, 01:41 PM.

the seat rails are different for the 2/4 door. maybe that's not saying it right. right now you pull the passenger seat lever and the seat releases and folds forward and glides on the rails to allow rear seat passengers entrance. The four door hatch back seats don't do that, since there are four doors. you can swap the bottom rails to keep the same function. |

Good point! They will swap right in without any modification, but you do lose that auto-sliding function. To keep the auto-sliding function, you'll want to transfer your factory seat rails onto the new seats - it's all plug and play though and really quite simple. |

Ok! I appreciate the advice. I may go retrieve the seat to put on at a later time. Thanks for the replies! Just got the XFi running again thanks to Geo Glenn and some awesome advice in the Engine Tech forum. I love this place.
