I know my father used to bend them a bit when they were squeaking/chattering. It was because they were not straight up/down (blade was leaning one way or the other). I wish this was what mine were doing because I've seen him fix his for this. What does bending it up or down do? (not exactly sure what you are meaning by this) |

Bending the arm down only puts more pressure of the wiper blade against the windshield and the added pressure sometimes makes a better wipe. |

What I do... I tried expensive ones couple times, it was cheaper to change out cheaper ones over a period of time.. |

I got a pair of bosch icons . There was a rebate through autozone and also through bosch. Ended up costing me 10 bucks for a pair. They are still working. This was 4 year ago. Cleaning the edge helps prolong the life |
