1992 Xfi Restoration

Here is my project, a 1992 Geo Metro Xfi. This is it as I bought it, a one owner, never wrecked, original paint 175k mile NC car. I have had it about two months and have started a complete restoration on it as well as several of the normal upgrades. There is a color change in the plans, Ford code US, a nice charcoal grey. I will keep posting pics as I progress. Posted Image

Edited your picture link so that it would show up! -Mythstae

Oh well, I'll figure out how to post pictures eventually. I'm much better at bodywork and painting!

That's just a link, I see. And to a low resolution version of the pic.

Here the car is after I tore into it and got it all apart. The lower tie bar on the radiator support was bent in a few spots from someone apparently jacking the front end up from there, so off it came. It was just easier to replace than to try to repair that one.

Ok, Rainman - here's what's going wrong with your picture links, and what I did to fix them!

First, when you click the image button, it provides you with a little snippet of a URL in the box; "http:// ". You're leaving that in, and pasting your entire URL after that. Delete that snippet first, THEN paste your URL in.

If you are going to use the image button, you must copy the link from photobucket from the box on the right, with the four options, one of which is labelled "Direct".

So you can't use THIS link: http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/osbornepaint/media/Geo%20Metro%20Xfi/Mobile%20Uploads/20140619_143617_zpsaw9wwnwv.jpg.html

But if you copy the DIRECT link, FROM that link, you get THIS link: http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/ag247/osbornepaint/Geo%20Metro%20Xfi/Mobile%20Uploads/20140619_143617_zpsaw9wwnwv.jpg

Which, if you click the image button and paste your URL in (remembering to delete the little snippet!), will give you this:Posted Image

And if you don't want to use the Image button here on the forum, you can just select the URL labelled "IMG" on Photobucket - however, that gives you a picture which is a clickable link back to your photobucket!
To do that, just copy the URL from the box labelled IMG, and paste it directly down here - don't touch the Image button!
That would give you this:

See how it's a link?

Here we are after soda blasting. Other than some hail damage and lots of parking lot dings, no damage to fix.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Thanks to Mythstae for the help, I believe I've got it now! Here are some shots after everything has been epoxy primed and then the filler applied and sanded smooth. It takes a lot more than it looks like it would to make the panels nice and straight.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

And here it is with the urethane primer. The door jambs had taken a pretty good beating from the seat belts so they got worked, too. Posted ImagePosted Image
