I am trying the pass the emissions test and keep failing because the check engine light it on. The testing place says that it's my Shift Solenoid Electrical B, code P0758. I had that part replaced and changed the oil and drove it around for 10 days and it's still failing. Is there any effective way to reset the engine and pass this test?

Thanks!

is it still the same code coming up? could be bad ground or connection on solenoid clean the connector and plug it back in and clean the grounds that will help too its prob bad ground

this is what causes the CEL of the p0758 code

- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid 'B' valve
- Shift solenoid 'B' valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid 'B' valve circuit is open or shorted

Did the light ever go out after you changed the solenoid? Have you reset the light and the code sets again when you drive it?

(1997 FSM for P0758) Diagnostic Aids

"Check the following conditions:
• Open or shorted shift solenoid # 2.
• Faulty electrical circuits (open or short to ground) between the shift solenoid # 2 and the PCM.
• Faulty PCM.

An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation or a wire broken inside the insulation.
Inspect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and for poor terminal-to-wire connections."

You can refer to the actual procedures in the FSM in the forum library for more details.
