As the title states, i want to clean up the rats nest that is my engine bay. I started with a mild wire tuck today and it looks tons better but the shit on the firewall is whats bugging me. Plus all of the damn vaccum lines are hideous. What can I remove to help clean up this mess?

You should try and check out turbo dan-o's car. He has done a lot to clean up his engine compartment. You might have to pm him for suggestions. I think he went to geopaloza this weekend.

Do you have a factory service manual? Check in the repair guide section. Could possibly be a manual you can down load and read as time permits

Battery relocation to the trunk is one of the larger things, and it's not too difficult to do.

That is my plan for this weekend. I actually was able to pick up some 2 gauge red cable out of a BMW for $3.50 at the local PNP. I'm getting more tomorrow for my Camaro.

So if anybody wants to do a relocate on the cheap, look for any 2000+ BMW in the yards. I got 11'8" of straight red cable WITH ends on the dirt cheap. More than enough for any Geo.

That's good to know about the wire, I have some 00 wire but I'm saving it for another project. I'll have to check out the BMW's next time I'm at the salvage yard.
