oil check valve 96 1.3 in block or not??

So I've torn down my 1996 1.3l metro engine and don't see the oil check valve I've heard people say not to loose. I 've seen conflicting info on here about this and It would appear the engine's been apart before, so what's the final word on this.

I also noticed the crankshaft gear key way is offset a few degrees. It fell out while removing the gear and I didn't see which way the offset was facing. How is it oriented.

Also how do you replace the rear seal? Looks like the flywheel adapter is press on? Weird deal that. Surely you wouldnt heat the flywheel adpapter.

flywheel removed then seal housing removed to access the rear main seal.
no oil check valve in the 4 cylinder blocks

But, I'm afraid mine is not that easy. The crank has a flywheel adapter that looks to be pressed on??. The one piece seal runs on a smaller diameter on the engine side of the adapter. It does not simply slide off the crank. The flywheel adapter won't let it. The geo service manual doesn't mention it but theres a used crank on ebay right now that's just like it.
