I've torn down what I believe is a transplanted 96 1.3 engine ( someone scratched 96 into the G13B block.). The rear main seal area is stepped with the one piece rear main seal located behind a larger round piece that the flexplate is bolted to. Its impossible to remove the seal without removing this "flywheel adapter". I'm guessing its out of a samurai or something. I've been looking all day and haven't figured it out. Any ideas?

Good bye

That looks like an automatic flexplate spacer. It should just come off, it may be stuck.
