Advanced timing will cause high Nox also. In Ca they check the timing, I figured yours was correct.

If that be the case, then here is hoping that it was the cause of my high NOx reading.

I changed the plugs (Bosch :scared ), replaced the PCV since I found a new one in my Shed Of Anarchy.
Set the timing to ~8 BTDC. Set the idle speed. Added some Sea Foam to the crankcase.
I'll fill up tomorrow morning before church, run it all next week. Emissions on Friday.

timing should be set at 5 degrees to pass inspection. Dont you have a sticker on the hood?

Yeah - Sticker sez 6 BTDC, but I'm a rebel.
Seriously, it was way, way, way, way out of timing - off the scale - 25...30...35 BTDC.
Crazy thing, I have been getting 43 mpg/avg since I bought it (3 fill ups)

Aw, screw it. Sell your metro and buy a Prius. Life will be good then.

Aw, screw it. Sell your metro (...and your other metro, and your swift and your Dakota truck and your Harley) and buy a Prius (and let your wife keep you cajones in her purse-she might let you look at them on the Friday nights, if you behave yourself) . Life will be good then ...yeah, right
...fixed it...

...and hell, I might buy another one before this winter...

SuchiZuki passed emissions - last time it needs to do so!!!
I might just reset the timing to 12 BTDC since setting it to 8 BTDC dropped the mpg's (first 2-3 tanks of gas, before setting the timing, were in the mid-40s mpg).
